Mark your walk, run or cycle route on the map and find the distance and total ascent and descent and a cross section of the route.
It is also useful for seeing if there is line of sight between two points or just drawing a cross section through the landscape or sea.
Click on the map to start a route and add new way points. Drag the way points to move them. Right click a point to delete it. Click on the line to insert a way point and then drag it into position.
You can jump to your current location using the button but you will need to authorise this (usually a pop up message in the browser).

The data for the profiler is obtained from Google Maps using the elevation API. The data is sampled along the route and these data points are used to calculate the statistics. As the length of the route is increased the samples will become further apart and the resolution of the data will be reduced.
