H rotor VAWT model
This is a larger model with a lower solidity compared to the previous models. The blades were made with a wooden leading edge and a cardboard trailing edge to give an approximately symmetrical aerofoil section.
This was very reluctant to self start or even turn in low winds. I nearly gave up on it, but tried it on a windy day and it took off.
